The Happiest Days of Your Life!

Torrington Players' Silver Jubilee Production

The Happiest Days of Your Life!

by John Dighton

Directed by Stephanie Easton and Carol Ryan.

November 1980 saw the Torrington Players' first production "Mad About Men" - a comedy for all the family - staged at The Plough. For their 25th Anniversary offering the society has chosen another family comedy "The Happiest Days of Your Life" which is, of course, set in a school. The time is the end of World War II and Hilary Hall School has just been "devacuated" back to its own premises when the Ministry decides to billet St. Swithins School for Girls on them. But names can be ambiguous, Hilary Hall is a BOYS prep school! This sets Head Master against Principal, master against mistress and parent against parent... in fact the only two in cahoots are pupils - one boy and one girl. Come and see the hilarity that ensues - we bet your "happiest days" were nothing like these!!!
