Rosetta Requiem

How can songs address the loss of love, the fear of illness and imprisonment by boredom?

Rosetta Requiem is a performance and screening of a remarkable cycle of songs born from collaborations between hospice users and leading song writers and composers. Michael Nyman, David Matthews, Robin Walker, Orlando Gough, singer/songwriter Billy Brag, hip hop artist Roots Manuva and many others have worked in hospices from Penrith to Weymouth, Exeter to Tunbridge Wells, to recast our representation of dying. The Rosetta Requiem, challenges the prevailing imagery of loss and meloncholy by celebrating the humour, love and intensity of life under threat. Rosetta Life is an organisation of professional artists that enable people with life limiting illnesses and their families to explore experiences of significance through video, photography, drama, poetry, fiction and other art forms.
