This double header provides an opportunity to see two of the foremost new female singer/songwriters on the British music scene. A welcome return for Kirsty McGee who has just received a nomination at the prestigious BBC Radio 2 2005 Folk Awards for "Best Original Song" (Coffee Colourd Strings) from her 2004 album "Frost". In 2002 she was nominated for the Horizon Award as best newcomer to the folk scene. Her charismatic stage performance and songs, coupled with brilliant accompanist Mat Martin, makes them a duo of pure class. Hailing from Bristol, Maddie Southern plays piano and sings like an angel. She performs her own material as well as beautiful interpretations of traditional songs. Having already produced one solo album, she has now been signed by the prestigious folk label "Fellside". She is due to record with them in Spring 2005. If she follows in the footsteps of other Fellside recording artists, awards and accolades are only a step away.
