King Matt

The Plough Youth Theatre present

King Matt by Stephen Greenhorn is adapted from the book 'King Matt The First' by Janusz Korczak - a treasured piece of children's literature throughout Eastern Europe held in the same kind of affection as Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan are in this country. In this story we meet Matt an eleven-year-old boy who, after the death of his father, becomes king. Determined to rule the country, he navigates around his doubting grown up advisers to implement his reforms. The boy-king Matt is undoubtedly the hero of the tale but it is human faults and weaknesses as well as his fearless spirit, which will keep you on the edge of your seat right up to the suspense-filled end. Join Matt, Felek and a host of colourful characters in this fantastic roller-coaster adventure performed by a large company of our younger Plough Youth Theatre members under the direction of Rob Pudner. And so there was a king...... and so there was a boy...... and so this is what happened...
