One of popular music's most thrilling performers, Eddi Reader is supported by longstanding musical collaborator Boo Hewerdine, one of the best songwriters in the world. Eddi Reader was born in Glasgow, began playing the guitar at the age of ten, busked in Glasgow and then around Europe, joined the punk band Gang of Four, toured the US, worked as a session vocalist with Eurythmics and Alison Moyet before in 1984 forming Fairground Attraction. Their 1988 first single, "Perfect", was a UK number one and best single at the 1989 Brit Awards. Their album, "The First of a Million Kisses", won best album. In 1990 Reader went solo, and her album Eddi Reader (1994) won her the "Best female singer" Brit Award, followed by Candyfloss & Medicine (1996), Angels & Electricity (1998), Simple Soul (2001) and Driftwood (2002). In 2006 Reader was awarded the MBE for services to music. A special night is assured for all who book early.
